Walkin’ Pets Veterinarian & Rehab/Vet Tech Scholarships

Submission has closed for the 2022 Veterinarian Scholarship. Join us in congratulating our 2022 Veterinary Scholarship winner Amelia Corona from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, and our 2022 Vet Tech Scholarship winner Shelby Jasewicz from Trident Technical College Veterinary Technology Program.

Walkin’ Pets dedicated to providing the best products to serve aging, disabled, and injured pets, is sponsoring a scholarship to honor veterinarians.

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a doctoral student entering his/her senior year of veterinarian school in 2022. And a $500 Vet/Rehab Tech scholarship will be awarded for canine rehabilitation of veterinary tech students
Scholarship applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited veterinary school to be eligible for the Veterinarian Scholarship.

The 2023 scholarship application period will open on February 1, 2023.

Walkin’ Pets is dedicated to providing the best products to serve aging, disabled, and injured pets. Each year Walkin’ Pets sponsors a scholarship program to honor tomorrow’s miracle workers and the future impact they will make in the veterinary community.

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the doctoral student entering or currently enrolled in veterinary school in 2023. And a $500 Vet/Rehab Tech scholarship will be awarded for canine rehabilitation or veterinary tech students.

Scholarship applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited veterinary school to be eligible for the Veterinarian Scholarship.

Application Opens: February 1, 2023

Application Deadline: July 31, 2023, 5 p.m. EST

Scholarship recipients will be notified after October 1, 2023

Essay Topic

Please discuss the following set of questions in 1,000 words or less:

  • Extraordinary care vs. ordinary care: the invention of the dog wheelchair and its impact on canine mobility in the veterinary field
  • Pain management and mobility aids: Deciding what’s best for a patient.
  • Multi-modal approach: The importance of incorporating dog wheelchairs and other mobility devices into a multi-modal approach to keep senior pets active

Enrollment Certification Letter

If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, you will be asked to email a letter of enrollment certification from your school as a condition of the scholarship
